During the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the demand for ventilators skyrocketed. Thanks to an immediate response, BBC Cellpack Technology was awarded the contract to produce key components for 10,000 ventilators for the French government via a consortium: The project organization and quotation took less than 24 hours to prepare, production started in-house and with partners on the fifth day, and the delivery of the last of 10,000 good parts after four weeks made it possible to meet the overall project duration of 50 days.

Requirements of the market

Distributors of medical technology devices are increasingly confronted with extensive regulations, with the MDR setting the bar high. In order to meet these requirements, they are looking for purchasing solution providers with well-organized supply chains that can reliably cover every desired area of the value chain. Competent support right from the design transfer stage is becoming increasingly important in order to cushion the increasing pressure on margins and control costs in series production.
