Sophisticated components, as in this case for the laser industry, require a great deal of knowledge about material behavior, about changes during processing or in the application, e.g. due to temperature and humidity influences, also with regard to the selection of suitable materials and compliance with the tightest manufacturing tolerances.

Requirements of the market

Whether intended for distance measurement, laser marking, laser cutting, welding or 3D printing of metallic components, functionally relevant laser technology system components require a deep understanding of the machining processes and the properties of the materials used. The higher the energy used, the more demanding the cooling required. Liquid-carrying components and assemblies must be absolutely free of burrs and lint to ensure the trouble-free flow of cooling media.
